In parallel with «CTF Genesis-2018» there was a conference on the protection of computer programs «PoIB», which opens a series of events on information security in the city of Khabarovsk. Opening the conference, the organizer Denis Tkachenko noted that it is primarily held for specialists: developers and administrators of software products, and secondly for students and graduate students who want to develop in the direction of information security. The first two speakers, current PNU master's student Alexander Gorbach and professional freelance developer Valentin Ignatiev, raised the burning issues of information security in the development of computer programs, because many vulnerabilities arise due to the developer's carelessness. Denis Smirnov touched upon important issues of the security of the core of any information system - a database on the example of parsing a PostgreSQL database. The reports of Anton Kostyuchenko and Vladimir Stupin were devoted to the ways of penetration of malicious software through office documents and the distribution and monitoring of installed software in a large organization for hundreds and thousands of jobs. The final presentation was made by Denis Tkachenko, who gave recommendations to developers and administrators on how to close the vulnerabilities of such a widespread domestic solution as 1C.
At the end of the conference, Mikhail Dolgachev and Denis Tkachenko announced the opening of a public school for students and schoolchildren to study applied practical issues in the field of information security. Also in May 2018, another CTF Olympiad is planned for students and schoolchildren, this time in a new attack-defense format for Khabarovsk.
