On March 3, 2018, the first open team Olympiad in information security for schoolchildren GenesisCTF-2018 took place in the Far East.
High school students of secondary schools, lyceums, gymnasiums of the city of Khabarovsk took part in the Olympiad. Among them were both beginners and experienced players who tried their hand in 2017. Within eight hours, young "security men" had to solve a number of serious problems from several categories, among which were already traditional cryptography, reverse, web, steganography, information search, PPC programming.
The winners of CTF Genesis-2018 received awards from Nikolay Sorokin, PNU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. The first place and the cup were awarded to the team «Sys32» from the Polytechnic Lyceum, medals for the second and third places were awarded to the teams of school №12. Prize-winners and winners also received gifts from the sponsors of the project - MegaFon and the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Khabarovsk Territory. In addition, all "white hackers" received certificates of participants in the Olympics from the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of the region, Sergei Fedorov.
Among the teams, the "girlish" team stood out. The five participants did not know each other before, but this did not prevent them from finding a common language and demonstrating their ability to solve problems.
